Liiton tarkoituksena on vaalia suomalaista hautauskulttuuria, kehittää jäsentensä ammattitaitoa sekä valvoa ja edistää jäsentensä yleisiä ja yhteisiä etuja. Liitto valvoo ja kouluttaa jäsenistöään aktiivisesti palvelemaan omaisia parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla.
